Insider Threat Roundup

About us

Reporting on the threat from within

Insider Threat Roundup is a daily news service dedicated to one of the hardest problems in security: harm caused by people who already have trusted access to an organisation.

We follow official advisories, government research and specialist security publications, including the US Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), the UK's National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), the US National Counterintelligence and Security Center, NATO's Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence and leading industry researchers.

What we cover

  • Insider threat: espionage, sabotage, fraud and data theft by employees and contractors.
  • Insider risk: the programmes, policies and research organisations use to manage that risk.
  • Bad leavers: departing staff who take data, credentials or access with them.
  • Disgruntled employees: grievances that turn into retaliation.

Every report is written in our own words, links to its original sources and follows our editorial policy.
